A series of thirteen intimate drawings made by hand using gunpowder and ink on paper, with string and matchsticks incorporated as physical elements. Cai Guo-Qiang employs his signature use of explosive materials in a deeply personal and contemplative format, transforming instruments of ignition into marks of quiet danger. The works exist in a charged tension between creation and destruction, suggesting the fragile threshold between making and unmaking.
