Creek II (WATER TABLE)
2018
A bold and meditative abstract composition, Creek II (WATER TABLE) employs sweeping geometric forms and fluid passages of acrylic paint to evoke the presence and movement of water across a landscape. Dyson's restrained palette and architectural linework suggest both the physical infrastructure and ecological fragility that govern Black and brown communities' relationships to natural water systems. The work operates at the intersection of abstraction and spatial politics, inviting the viewer to consider how bodies and environments are shaped by the flow and control of vital resources.
