Thought as Thing
2025
A luminous oval form glows with ethereal cyan and blue light against a neutral gray wall, its soft edges creating an immersive void like presence. The work employs computer programmed LED technology to generate a pure, dematerialized light source that hovers within a fiberglass aperture, inviting contemplation of perception itself. The color field transitions subtly from bright cyan at the perimeter to deeper blue at the center, producing an optical effect that seems to expand and contract with the viewer's gaze. Characteristic of the artist's decades long investigation into light, space, and phenomenological experience, this work continues a lineage of immersive abstraction that treats visibility and invisibility as material concerns.
