Vanessa Bell (1879, 1961) was a British painter and interior designer, and a central figure of the Bloomsbury Group. Sister of Virginia Woolf, she co-founded the Omega Workshops with Roger Fry and Duncan Grant, producing boldly decorative works influenced by Post-Impressionism. Her paintings range from intimate domestic interiors and portraits to abstract compositions, and her work has gained significant recognition at auction through major houses including Christie's and Sotheby's.
