Samuel Yellin (1885, 1940) was a Polish-born American master blacksmith and metalworker renowned for his extraordinary wrought iron work, which combined medieval craftsmanship with artistic innovation. He established his Philadelphia-based Arch Street studio in 1909, which became one of the most celebrated metalworking workshops in America, producing commissions for landmark buildings including the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Yale University. Yellin elevated blacksmithing to a fine art, and his intricate ironwork gates, grilles, lanterns, and architectural elements are highly sought after by collectors and institutions worldwide.
