Raffaello Sanzio, known as Raphael, was one of the greatest masters of the Italian High Renaissance, celebrated for his harmonious compositions, graceful figures, and luminous use of color. Born in Urbino, he trained under Perugino before moving to Florence and ultimately Rome, where he created iconic works including the Stanza della Segnatura frescoes in the Vatican and the celebrated Sistine Madonna. His influence on Western art has been immeasurable, and his works remain among the most sought-after and revered in art history.
