Peter Phillips

Peter Phillips (born 1939) is a British Pop Art painter who emerged from the Royal College of Art in London alongside contemporaries such as David Hockney and R.B. Kitaj. His work is characterized by bold, hard-edged imagery drawn from American popular culture, including pinball machines, custom cars, comic strips, and advertising iconography, rendered with a slick, commercial aesthetic. Phillips is considered a significant figure in the British Pop Art movement, and his large-scale, visually charged canvases have been collected by major institutions worldwide.
