Olaf Wieghorst

Olaf Wieghorst (1899, 1988) was a Danish-American painter celebrated for his authentic and romanticized depictions of the American West, particularly cowboys, Native Americans, and horses. A former U.S. Border Patrol officer and New York City mounted policeman, his firsthand experiences with Western life lent his work a distinctive realism and vitality.
