Nguyen Tien Chung

Nguyen Tien Chung (1914, 1976) was a Vietnamese painter trained at the École des Beaux-Arts de l'Indochine in Hanoi, where he became a distinguished figure in modern Vietnamese art. He was renowned for his masterful use of lacquer (sơn mài) and silk painting techniques, depicting traditional Vietnamese landscapes, village life, and portraits with lyrical sensitivity. His works have appeared at major international auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's, reflecting growing global interest in mid-20th century Vietnamese fine art.
