Edwards is a sculptor known for his "Lynch Fragments" series, small-scale welded steel assemblages made from chains, tools, and found metal that reference slavery and violence. Beginning in 1963 and ongoing, these works combine abstraction with political content. His work is held by the Whitney, MoMA, and LACMA.
