Martha Boto (1925, 2004) was an Argentine kinetic and op art pioneer who became a central figure in the Latin American avant-garde movement. Working primarily in Paris from the 1960s onward, she created luminous kinetic sculptures and optical installations that explored the interplay of light, movement, and perception. Her work was closely associated with the GRAV (Groupe de Recherche d'Art Visuel) and she exhibited widely in Europe and Latin America, earning recognition as one of the foremost practitioners of kinetic art.
