Marco Ricci (1676–1730) was a Venetian painter celebrated for his atmospheric landscape paintings and theatrical scene designs, often collaborating with his uncle Sebastiano Ricci. He is regarded as a pioneer of the capriccio genre and the Venetian landscape tradition, blending Italianate scenery with dramatic light and stormy skies. His works frequently appeared in British collections following his extended stay in England during the early 18th century.
