Lisa Milroy

Lisa Milroy is a Canadian-born, London-based painter known for her distinctive still life paintings that arrange everyday objects, such as shoes, tyres, light bulbs, and stamps, in orderly rows or clusters against plain white backgrounds. Her work explores themes of consumerism, representation, and the nature of objects, combining meticulous observation with a cool, detached aesthetic. She has been a significant figure in British contemporary art since the 1980s and holds a professorship at the Slade School of Fine Art in London.
