Laura Owens

Laura Owens is a painter known for her large-scale, eclectic canvases that combine diverse techniques including digital printing, embroidery, silkscreen, and traditional painting to create layered, formally inventive compositions. Her work playfully engages with art history while incorporating contemporary imagery from textiles, comics, and domestic design. She had a major mid-career survey at the Whitney Museum in 2017.
