John Whorf

John Whorf (1903, 1959) was an American watercolorist celebrated for his vibrant, atmospheric depictions of New England coastal scenes, jazz clubs, and Parisian street life. Largely self-taught, he developed a bold, gestural watercolor technique that earned him recognition as one of the foremost American watercolorists of the mid-20th century. His works have appeared regularly at major auction houses including Sotheby's and Christie's, consistently achieving strong results among collectors of American art.
