Jean Crotti

Jean Crotti (1878, 1958) was a Swiss-French avant-garde artist closely associated with the Dada movement, particularly through his connections with Marcel Duchamp and Francis Picabia in New York during World War I. He later developed his own distinctive technique called 'Gemmail,' a form of colored glass art that combined painting and stained glass traditions. Crotti exhibited widely in Europe and America, and his work frequently appears at auction for its unique blend of abstraction and decorative innovation.
