Jacob Gerritsz. Cuyp (1594, 1651/52) was a Dutch Golden Age painter based in Dordrecht, renowned for his portraits and group compositions, particularly of children and family scenes. He was the father of the celebrated landscape painter Aelbert Cuyp and a prominent figure in the artistic community of Dordrecht. His work is characterized by warm tonality, careful attention to detail in costume and texture, and a dignified formality typical of Dutch portraiture of the period.
