Jack Youngerman (1926, 2020) was an American abstract painter known for his bold, organic forms and vibrant color fields that bridged Abstract Expressionism and Hard-Edge abstraction. His work is characterized by large, curvilinear shapes often inspired by natural forms such as leaves and plants, rendered in striking contrasting colors. Youngerman was associated with the New York School and was a pivotal figure in post-war American abstraction, exhibiting alongside contemporaries like Ellsworth Kelly and Robert Indiana.
