Mahama creates large-scale installations using jute sacks that have been used to transport cocoa and coal, stitching them together to cover buildings and create immersive environments. His work addresses global trade, labor, and post-colonial economies. He has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, documenta, and major institutions including Tate Modern.
