Gortzius Geldorp was a Flemish Renaissance painter born in 1553 who spent much of his career working in Germany. He was highly regarded for his portrait paintings, which brought him considerable recognition among German patrons. He remained active until his death in 1618, leaving a legacy as one of the notable Flemish artists to establish himself abroad.
