Giovanni Pietro Rizzoli, known as Giampietrino, was a Milanese painter active in the early sixteenth century and one of the most devoted followers of Leonardo da Vinci. He worked closely within Leonardo's circle, producing refined devotional paintings and figures that closely emulated his master's sfumato technique and idealized female types. His works, including numerous versions of the Madonna and Child and sensuous depictions of Mary Magdalene, remain highly sought after in the Old Masters market.
