Georg Hinz was a German Baroque painter active in Hamburg during the second half of the 17th century, best known for his elaborate cabinet piece still lifes depicting kunstkammer shelves filled with precious objects, curiosities, and treasures. His meticulous attention to detail and virtuosic rendering of textures made him one of the most distinguished still life painters in northern Germany. Hinz's works frequently appear at major auction houses and are held in significant European museum collections.
