Eileen Gray was a pioneering Irish architect and furniture designer whose innovative work bridged the Art Deco movement and modernist design. She is best known for iconic pieces such as the E.1027 adjustable side table and the Bibendum chair, which have become highly sought-after at auction houses including Christie's and Phillips. Her work, long overlooked during her lifetime, has experienced dramatic reappraisal, with her Dragon chair selling for a record €21.9 million at Christie's Paris in 2009.
