Cornelis van Spaendonck (1756, 1840) was a Dutch-French painter celebrated for his exquisite floral still lifes and botanical illustrations, trained under his elder brother Gerard van Spaendonck. He became a prominent figure at the French court and was appointed painter to the Sèvres porcelain manufactory, where his designs greatly influenced decorative arts. His meticulous technique and vibrant compositions earned him widespread acclaim in both the Netherlands and France.
