Anne Imhof creates durational performances, installations, and paintings that explore power, surveillance, and the body in contemporary society. She won the Golden Lion at the 2017 Venice Biennale for her opera "Faust" and is known for her choreographed performances featuring youth culture aesthetics. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, Tate Modern, and the Stedelijk Museum.
