Almir da Silva Mavignier

Almir da Silva Mavignier (1925, 2018) was a Brazilian-born artist who became a pioneering figure in concrete and Op Art movements, known for his precise geometric compositions and exploration of visual perception. He studied at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Ulm, Germany, where he later taught and developed his distinctive visual language rooted in systematic form and color relationships. Mavignier gained international recognition through major exhibitions and his groundbreaking poster designs, which extended his geometric principles into applied arts.
