Qing Dynasty, Kangxi Period [two Items]
These two elegant Qing Dynasty dishes from the Kangxi period showcase the exceptional quality of imperial Chinese porcelain, featuring rich cobalt-blue underglaze decoration that exemplifies the period's mastery of blue-and-white ware. Each piece displays a harmonious composition of a central floral basket medallion surrounded by a delicate rim border of alternating fruiting and flowering sprays punctuated by an insect motif. The bases bear apocryphal Chenghua reign marks in underglaze-blue, a common practice of the Kangxi period reflecting admiration for earlier Ming Dynasty porcelain traditions.
