An 18th century Edo period kabuto featuring a fine black lacquered sixteen-plate iron bowl with elaborate copper-gilt decorative work. The helmet includes an ornamental strip, multi-stage tehen kanamono, ornamental borders, falcon feather crests in silver and copper-gilt, and close-fitted neck guard with dark blue lacing.
