Lin Tianmiao's *Focus* series presents a group of four mixed-media works that combine lithography, hand coloring, and embossing with the tactile, labor-intensive addition of insect pins and thread. The juxtaposition of printmaking techniques with these delicate, almost clinical materials creates a tension between the mechanical and the handmade, evoking themes of bodily scrutiny and feminine labor. Together, the works draw the viewer's attention to processes of pinning, binding, and marking, suggesting acts of both preservation and constraint.
