Goatfell, Isle of Arran (Lambirth & Peck 18)
Craigie Aitchison's 2001 etching with carborundum depicts Goatfell on the Isle of Arran, rendered in a characteristically bold and simplified aesthetic that distills the Scottish landscape into essential forms and vivid colour. This printer's proof, one of only three impressions outside the edition of 60, was printed by Jack Shirreff at 107 Workshop and represents the collaborative publishing efforts of two prominent London galleries. The work demonstrates Aitchison's continued engagement with printmaking as a medium for exploring the emotional and spiritual resonance of specific Scottish locations.
