Stater (Coin) Depicting a Crouching Dog
-500
The front (obverse) of this coin depicts a dog with collar, crouching on forelegs to the left; below is a tunny fish, which was such an important product of the local economy that it appeared on all coinage of Kyzikos. The back (reverse) shows an incuse square quartered in a mill-sail pattern.
