Created in 1981, Ken Price's *The Plain of Smokes* is a limited-edition portfolio work comprising two sheets, numbered 130/150, from a regular edition of 150 with an additional 30 hors commerce impressions. The work is signed and dated in pencil by the artist, with additional signatures in black ink and a red ink numbering on the colophon, and was published by Arabesque Books in Santa Barbara, California. Presented loose as issued, the sheets are housed in the original printed portfolio and fabric-covered slipcase, bearing both the publisher's and artist's blindstamps.
