Gli Occhiali (The Glasses)
1968
A pair of oversized glasses dominates the canvas, rendered in Fioroni's signature silvery aluminum enamel that lends the image a cool, luminous sheen. The work reflects her engagement with the Italian Pop movement known as Scuola di Piazza del Popolo, translating an everyday object into something both intimate and iconic. The graphite and metallic surfaces create a tension between the tactile and the reflective, inviting the viewer to consider themes of vision, perception, and the gaze.
