Simon de Vos was a Flemish Baroque painter born in Antwerp in 1603, known for his small-scale cabinet paintings depicting biblical, mythological, and allegorical scenes. He trained under Cornelis de Vos and was influenced by Peter Paul Rubens, developing a refined style characterized by rich color and meticulous detail. De Vos became a master in the Antwerp Guild of Saint Luke and remained highly productive throughout his career until his death in 1676.
