Sérvulo Esmeraldo (1929, 2017) was a Brazilian artist born in Sobral, Ceará, renowned for his innovative exploration of kinetic art, optical phenomena, and experimental sculpture. He spent much of his career in Paris, where he became deeply engaged with the European avant-garde, producing works that investigated light, movement, and the interaction between objects and their environment. His multidisciplinary practice encompassed sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and installation, earning him recognition as one of Brazil's most significant constructivist and kinetic artists.
