Rubens Gerchman

Rubens Gerchman (1942, 2008) was a prominent Brazilian artist and central figure in the Brazilian Pop Art movement, known for blending popular culture, mass media imagery, and social commentary in his vibrant works. He was a key participant in the landmark 1965 exhibition 'Opinião 65' in Rio de Janeiro, which helped define a distinctly Brazilian visual language drawing on everyday life, urban culture, and the marginalized masses.
