Pierre et Gilles

Pierre et Gilles is the celebrated French artistic duo comprised of photographer Pierre Commoy (born 1950) and painter Gilles Blanchard (born 1953), who have collaborated since 1976. Their distinctive work combines photography with hand-painting to create highly stylized, ornate images that blend pop culture, religious iconography, eroticism, and kitsch into a signature aesthetic universe.
