Petr Petrovich Sokolov (1791, 1848) was a prominent Russian watercolorist and portraitist, celebrated for his elegant depictions of aristocratic society, military figures, and intimate domestic scenes. A graduate of the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg, he became one of the most sought-after portrait miniaturists of the Romantic era in Russia.
