Naukydes was an ancient Greek sculptor active during the late 5th and early 4th centuries BCE, traditionally associated with the Argive school of sculpture. He is believed to have been a brother or close associate of the celebrated sculptor Polykleitos, and likely trained within the same artistic tradition that prioritized idealized human proportion and the study of the male athletic form. His work reflects the rigorous canon of symmetry and balance that defined Argive sculptural practice during this period.
