Max Kalish (1891, 1945) was a Polish-American sculptor best known for his powerful depictions of American laborers, workers, and everyday people, capturing the dignity of the working class in bronze. He studied at the Cleveland School of Art and later in New York and Paris, developing a realist style influenced by his immigrant experience and social consciousness. His works are held in numerous public collections and gained significant recognition during the 1920s and 1930s for their humanist themes.
