Masao Yamamoto

Masao Yamamoto is a Japanese photographer born in 1957, celebrated for his small-format, handcrafted prints that evoke a meditative and poetic sensibility. His images, often depicting nature, the human figure, and fleeting moments, are printed on delicate paper and then aged, torn, or stained to give them an organic, timeworn quality. Yamamoto is internationally recognized for blurring the boundaries between photography and fine art objects, frequently presenting his works in intimate, non-linear installations.
