Louis Mathieu Verdilhan

Louis Mathieu Verdilhan (1875–1928) was a French Post-Impressionist painter born in Marseille, known for his vibrant depictions of the Provençal landscape, Mediterranean ports, and urban scenes. He was closely associated with the Marseille artistic milieu and exhibited regularly at the Salon des Indépendants in Paris. His work is characterized by bold color, expressive brushwork, and a strong sense of light influenced by his southern French surroundings.
