Karl Prantl (1923, 2010) was an Austrian sculptor renowned for his meditative stone sculptures, which he created through a slow, contemplative process of direct carving. His work is deeply connected to spiritual and philosophical themes, often exploring the relationship between form, material, and silence. Prantl was a founding member of the influential Symposion Europäischer Bildhauer in St. Margarethen, Austria, which he established in 1959 to promote collaborative international sculpture.
