Jean-Victor Bertin (1767, 1842) was a French landscape painter and influential teacher who studied under Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes and became a leading figure in the neoclassical landscape tradition. He exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon and counted among his students notable artists such as Camille Corot and Achille-Etna Michallon. His works are characterized by idealized, classically composed landscapes often inspired by the Italian countryside and historical subjects.
