Jakob Philipp Hackert (1737, 1807) was a German landscape painter from Brandenburg who spent much of his career in Italy, becoming one of the most celebrated landscape artists of the 18th century. He served as court painter to King Ferdinand IV of Naples and was renowned for his meticulous, naturalistic depictions of the Italian countryside. His work bridged the classical landscape tradition with a keen observational style that influenced many contemporary artists.
