Created large-scale installations merging Eastern philosophy with Western conceptualism, often incorporating live animals and challenging cultural assumptions. Co-founded the Xiamen Dada group and represented France at Venice Biennale. His monumental sculptures are held in Centre Pompidou, Walker Art Center, and Guggenheim.
