Howardena Pindell

Pindell creates abstract paintings and mixed-media works using hole-punched dots, spray paint, and collaged elements that address race, violence, and autobiography. A former MoMA curator, her work combines formal experimentation with political content. Major exhibitions include a 2018 survey at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
