Hans Arp (Jean Arp) was a German-French sculptor, painter, and poet who was a founding member of the Dada movement in Zurich. He developed a distinctive organic abstract style characterized by flowing, biomorphic forms that he applied across sculpture, relief, collage, and printmaking. Arp was a pivotal figure in the European avant-garde, later associated with Surrealism and abstract art movements of the 20th century.
