Franz Xaver Petter (1791, 1866) was an Austrian painter celebrated for his exquisitely detailed floral still lifes, widely regarded as one of the foremost flower painters of the Viennese Biedermeier period. He studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts and became a professor there, influencing generations of Austrian artists. His lush, botanically precise compositions of roses, tulips, and mixed bouquets were highly sought after by aristocratic and bourgeois collectors of his era.
