François Kollar (1904, 1979) was a Hungarian-born French photographer renowned for his innovative industrial and fashion photography during the interwar period. He is best known for his monumental project 'La France travaille' (1931, 1934), a sweeping documentary survey of French labor and industry commissioned by the Librairie Hachette, which stands as a landmark of humanist photography. His work bridged documentary realism and modernist aesthetics, and he also produced celebrated portraits and fashion images for major publications such as Harper's Bazaar.
